Frequently Asked Questions

Why Would my Child go to a Chiropractor?

Chiropractic care for children and infants helps to remove interference in the development of their nervous system, encouraging optimal growth and function. Chiropractic for children and infants can help your kids with a variety of conditions, including colic, reflux, torticollis, constipation, ear infections, ADD/ADHD and hyperactivity, sensory processing disorder, bedwetting and more.

Is Chiropractic Safe for Pregnancy?

Yes! Chiropractic care is both safe and beneficial during all stages of pregnancy. Dr. Colton is equipped to manage common conditions during pregnancy since she has extensive post-graduate training in prenatal chiropractic care, over five years of experience, and she is certified in the Webster Technique. The Webster Technique is recommended for pregnant women, because it balances the pelvis and surrounding muscles and ligaments, as well as facilitates proper nerve supply to the uterus. For more information, see here (https://icpa4kids.com/training/webster-certification/webster-technique/). During your adjustment, it is our promise to ensure your comfort and help you feel at ease.

What Does a First Visit Look Like?

For all patients, a first visit includes a detailed case history, neurological examination, spinal x-rays (excluding pregnant women and children under 6 years old), the five-part Gonstead analysis and a spinal adjustment. The first visit for a newborn or infant includes a detailed birth case history, neurological examination and a spinal adjustment, myofascial unwinding and/or cranial work.
